The one before the 1, the Nike Air Max Zero was born from the original sketch that gave birth to one of the sneaker world's best loved dynasties. Inspired by a trip to the Pompidou Centre in Paris and a desire to show the world just what they were doing with those bags of air, legendary designer Tinker Hatfield sketched out the first ever Air Max design, an innovative, forward thinking piece of footwear that was way before it's time, having to pare back that idea in order to create what would eventually become the Air Max 1. After joining forced with current Nike designer Graeme McMillan in the wake of last years Air Max day, Hatfield was given the opportunity to bring that sketch to life, drawing on some of Beaverton's best contemporary tech and creating this impressive new addition to the Air Max family. Constructed with mesh and no-sew hyperfuse uppers, the Zero is constructed with a huarache-esque cuff, stabilising heel band and sits on a lightweight, yet incredibly comfortable Ultra outsole playing host to the bubble that inspired the whole thing.
